2010’s

2014Do They Know It’s Christmas? by Band Aid 30 became the UK Number One Single, for just one week. The 4th incarnation of the classic charity single included artists including One Direction, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Chris Martin of Coldplay and U2’s Bono.

1960’s

1965The Carnival Is Over by The Seekers began a 3-week spell at the top of the UK Singles Chart. The song was adapted from a Russian folk song, circa 1883.

1950’s

1954Rosemary Clooney’s version of This Ole House started a one-week spell as the UK Number One Single. The song again topped the chart in 1981 with a Shakin’ Stevens recording.
