ABBA won the Eurovision song contest, held at the Brighton Dome, Brighton, England, with Waterloo on this day 1974. The band’s manager Stig Anderson placed a bet of $40 at 20/1 on the band.

The album has a mix of covers with the highlight an incredible cover of Ray Charles’s Respect, a song that became an anthem for the civil rights movement.
