On this Day in Music – 18th December

1940’s

Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones was born at Livingston Hospital, in Dartford, Kent on this day 1943.  Richards is best known as the co-founder, guitarist, and co-principal songwriter of The Rolling Stones, and played all the guitar parts on songs such as Paint It Black, Sympathy for the Devil, and Gimme Shelter.

The 1984 The Replacements album Let It Be has a greater diversity and mature sound than the more up-tempo earlier LPs. The post-punk classic deals with themes of coming-of-age and rejection. Quality LP!
