The Beatles arrived in Hamburg, Germany on this day 1960. In Hamburg the band learned their craft, improved their performance skills, and broadened their reputation. The Beatles played in various Hamburg clubs between August 1960 and December 1962.

The 3rd album by The Band, Stage Fright, celebrates a 50th anniversary today! The LP received mixed reviews, despite some career highlights, including The Shape I’m In and the title track. Probably due to the up-tempo music and embittered lyrics. Solid work though.

The debut eponymous album by American glam rock artist Jobriath gave the singer the nickname the ‘American Bowie’ and for obvious reasons. Highlights are I’maman and the closing track Blow Away. Grandiose and pretentious, absolutely, but I love it!

The eponymous 1972 album by British rock band Home is an unknown classic. In 1971 they supported Led Zeppelin at Wembley Empire Pool!
