The final studio album On Every Street by Dire Straits was a difficult last album. Released in 1991 On Every Street had to follow, albeit 6 years later, the massively successful album Brothers in Arms. The LP still topped the UK Charts, and has some fine guitar moments by Knopfler.

The 1978 Waylon & Willie album by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson was a huge success. The LP is two prolific country musicians having a jolly old time. Includes a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Gold Dust Woman. Spent 126 weeks on the country charts.

The 3rd Antony and the Johnsons album, The Crying Light, is 10 years old today! I can never decide if AATJ is genius, or pretentious twaddle…it depends on my mood. On my most recent listen, it’s the former…a unique voice and talent.

The 1978 Warren Zevon LP Excitable Boy was 40 years old yesterday. The 3rd LP from the American singer was his biggest seller and includes the tracks Excitable Boy and Werewolves of London. A diverse masterpiece?
