2010’s

2017Rockstar by Post Malone featuring 21 Savage became the UK Number One Single, where it remained for 4 weeks.  The song knocked Sam Smith’s Too Good at Goodbyes off the top spot.

2013Counting Stars by OneRepublic became the UK Number One Single for the first of two occasions, spending just one week at the top each time.

2012 – The American blues/rock singer Nick Curran died of Cancer age 35. The singer, likened to The Sonics and T-Bone Walker, had beaten cancer once, but lost his battle in 2012.

1970’s

1978 – ABBA musicians Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad were married, both marrying for the second time.

1950’s

1959Jerry Keller’s Here Comes Summer began a one-week spell at the top of the UK Singles Chart. The song It was Keller’s only hit either side of the Atlantic.
