The 1973 classic album Solid Air by British folk singer-songwriter John Martyn was recorded in just 8-days. The title track was dedicated to Nick Drake who would die just over a year later. The album has been described timeless, hypnotic and ground-breaking….enough said.

The debut self-titled album by The xx was released 10 years ago today! The LP was one of the most acclaimed albums of the year and won the Mercury Prize in 2010. The London band’s atmospheric indie pop became a sleeper hit, and a pleasant revisit a decade on.

The Who’s 2nd album A Quick One, released late in 1966, is a quaint pop album with a hint of things to come. Includes some daft tracks such as Moon’s Cobwebs and Strange and Entwistle’s Boris the Spider. I also completely forgot there was a cover of Heatwave on the album! Fun stuff.
