The Charles Mingus album Tijuana Moods was recorded in 1957, but not released until 1962. The LP was inspired by a trip to Tijuana, and is cited among Mingus’s finest work. Other players include Clarence Shaw on trumpet and Jimmy Knepper on trombone. Masterful work.

The latest album by The Black Keys Let’s Rock is worth a listen. I agree with the Guardian review who said “an album that’s solid rather than spectacular.” Includes the singles Lo/Hi, Eagle Birds, and Go. I do have a big soft spot for this duo!

The Amy Winehouse album Back To Black was her 2nd and final release. The LP which includes the singles Rehab, Back to Black and Love Is a Losing Game, won a Grammy. The brassy vocals of Winehouse, and the master production by Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi created one heck of an album!

The Orb’s U.F.Orb is 25 years old today. The London outfit’s 2nd studio album included edited version of Blue Room. Chill-out time!
