On this Day in Music – 12th April

1950’s

At the Pythian Temple studios in New York City Bill Haley & His Comets recorded the legendary Rock Around the Clock on this day 1954. The band performed two takes, which were combined to create the final release.  Apparently Sammy Davis, Jr was waiting to use the studio while Haley & the Comets finished recording.
