On this Day in Music – 8th May

1910’s

It’s widely regarded that American blues singer-songwriter Robert Johnson was born on this day 1911.  The influential blue musician was born in Hazlehurst, Mississippi and famously sold his soul to the devil at a Mississippi crossroads.  Johnson’s music was mostly recorded between 1936 and 1937, with tracks including Cross Road Blues, Love In Vain and Sweet Home Chicago.
