1940’s

The First Lady of Country Music Tammy Wynette was born near Tremont, Mississippi on this day 1942. The American country singer, best known for Stand by Your Man, was born Virginia Wynette Pugh and sadly at just nine months old her father died of a brain tumor.

I’ve been a fan of The Mother Hips frontman Tim Bluhm for quite a while. His new album Sorta Surviving is more classic country, than the California-Soul sound to which he made most of his living. Bluhm has found his niche, he is a natural in this genre. A fun listen.
