The 2013 debut album 180 by the London garage indie rock Palma Violets was highly anticipated. Having appeared on the cover of NME prior to their first single release, their debut was set up to fail. Where some critics obliged, I enjoyed.

The debut eponymous album from the Vampire Weekend is 10 years old today! The LP garnered much praise the music press and critics, and even a nod from Paul Simon. VW brought a world music approach to indie-rock. Lyrically baffling, but musically fascinating. vampireweekend.com
