On this Day in Music – 26th May

1920’s

The American jazz trumpeter and composer Miles Davis was born on this day 1926 in Alton, Illinois, fifteen miles north of St. Louis.  Davis’s illustrious career spanned five decades and his album A Kind of Blue is the biggest selling jazz album of all-time.

Many of the tracks were work in progress for his 2nd LP, but were never finished due to Buckley’s untimely death. I remember being so excited to hear this upon release.
