On this Day in Music – 25th May

1950’s

The English songwriter and former The Jam and The Style Council singer Paul Weller was born in Woking, Surrey on this day 1958.  Born John William Jr to John Snr, a taxi driver and builder and Ann Weller, a part-time cleaner, he soon became known by the name Paul.

The futuristic concept album chronicles a journey in a high-tech car called the Kamakiri, which is Japanese for praying mantis.
