1970’s

1972You Wear It Well by Rod Stewart began one-week at the top of the UK Singles Chart. Stewart performed the song on BBC’s Top of the Pops with the full lineup of Faces.

1960’s

1961Johnny Remember Me by John Leyton became the UK Number One Single, where it remained for 3 weeks, then another week on 28th September 1961.  The song was produced by Joe Meek and was banned by the BBC due to the morbid lyrics.
