The 2nd album by The Cure, Seventeen Seconds, celebrates the 40th anniversary today! Unsettling, dark and sparse melodically. The LP contained their first single in the Top 40, A Forest. Bleak to say the least. RT if you love.

On The Beach is the ultimate compendium by The Paragons. The band were formed in Kingston, Jamaica and made soulful, roots and rocksteady pop songs. With John Holt in the band, and with tracks such as The Tide Is High (covered by Blondie) made this a worthwhile listen.

The recent Moby album Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt is a melancholic masterpiece. I remember listening to Play on loop on a beach in Cambodia all those years ago. Now with the new LP it might be time to book another flight! Anyone listened to it?

The 1969 eponymous album by Boz Scaggs. Highlight is 12-min blues Loan Me A Dime. Classic Muscle Shoals sound & deeply soulful!
