The 1971 debut eponymous Little Feat album was a commercial failure, but now admired as among their finest work. It’s hard to pinpoint their sound, Zappa-esque at times, roadhouse blues, country rock, all of the above. Check it out, if you haven’t already.

The Sons of Kemet Mercury Prize nominated album Your Queen Is A Reptile is another ‘best of’ 2018. The jazz quartet led by the tenor saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings proved the British jazz is alive and well. Tight, intricate and kinetic.

The Beenie Man LP Many Moods Of Moses is 20 years old today. The stand-out track is Who Am I, but enjoyed the dancehall beats, the country number and hash of My Prerogative…yep it’s quite diverse!
