1950’s

1950 – The legendary Sun Studio at 706 Union Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee is opened by Sam Phillips. Artists such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison and Jerry Lee Lewis all recorded at the studio.

1940’s

1945 – The American singer-songwriter Stephen Stills was born in Dallas, Texas. Stills is best known for his work with Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
