The 1968 Frank Sinatra and Duke Ellington and his big band album Francis A. & Edward K was a collection of slow numbers. Apparently Ol’ Blue Eyes was suffering from a cold while recording, but still sounds pretty good to me! |

The album True Blue (not Madonna!) by tenor saxophonist Tina Brooks was released on Blue Note Records in 1960. The only hard-bop LP with Brooks as leader, showed the underrated talent of the musician. Also featured Freddie Hubbard, Duke Jordan and Art Taylor. |
