On this Day in Music – 26th October

1990’s

1997 – The pop song Barbie Girl by the Danish-Norwegian group Aqua began a 4 week reign at the top of the UK Singles chart.  The song caused a controversial lawsuit between Barbie manufacturers Mattel and MCA Records.
