On this Day in Music – 25th December

1950’s

1954 – Eurythmics singer and political activist Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on this day 1954.  Also, American rhythm-and-blues singer Johnny Ace died of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 25.  There are varying accounts of what happened that day, but allegedly Ace pointed the gun at his head thinking the chamber wasn’t loaded and pulled the trigger.
