The 1987 debut Public Enemy album Yo! Bum Rush The Show was at the time became one of the fastest-selling hip hop records. Hugely influential, the LP featured Chuck D’s politically charged rhymes that are still relevant over 30 years later.

The latest Stormzy album Heavy Is the Head features his first UK Number One Single Vossi Bop. NME described the LP “a broad-reaching, genre-buckling romp.” I’m not a huge grime fan, but Heavy Is The Head is a great listen.

A new name to me Michael Nau, of the Maryland indie band Cotton Jones, in 2017 released his 2nd solo album Some Twist. A nostalgic, impressively written and produced piece of work. Hints of Burt Bacharach mentioned a testament to the quality of song. Loved it!

The 1973 Jackson Browne LP For Everyman included an impressive guest list, Elton John, David Crosby, Joni Mitchell, Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt and Glen Frey, especially considering it was his second album. A very underrated artist?
