1980Don’t Stand So Close To Me by The Police became the UK Number One Single, where it remained for 4 weeks. The song was the lead single from their 3rd album Zenyatta Mondatta.

1960’s

1964Herman’s Hermits I’m Into Something Good began a 2-week spell at Number One in the UK Singles Chart. The song was originally recorded by Earl-Jean of the Cookies on Colpix Records.

1950’s

1958Carolina Moon by Connie Francis became the UK Number One Single, where it remained for 6 weeks. The song was written in 1924 by Joe Burke and Benny Davis, and was released as a double A-side with Stupid Cupid.

1940’s

1949 – “The Boss” Bruce Springsteen was born at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey.
