The 1993 New Order album Republic included the singles Regret, Ruined in a Day, World (The Price of Love), and Spooky. After a four year hiatus the band returned with a catchy guitar pop LP. I remember selling loads of these in the record shop.

The latest Squarepusher album Be Up A Hello was recorded on his vintage 90’s kit, and his first under the moniker in 5-years. In the most part sounding like an 80’s computer game (not a bad thing) but there is one stellar slow track. Great return.

The 1965 debut Astrud Gilberto Album is every bit as wonderful as The Girl from Ipanema, the track that brought her fame. Gilberto’s voice has been described as sweet but fragile, and made for a Brazilian repertoire. Love Dindi and Agua de Beber.

The debut Kate Bush album The Kick Inside is 40 years old today. Bush was just 19 upon release, with some songs written when she was just 13…incredible. Includes the hit single Wuthering Heights and the mesmerising The Man with the Child in His Eyes.
